Noctifer Trio
The Noctifer Trio was established in 2023 while all of its members were completing postgraduate degrees at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
Since then, the trio has been a semi-finalist in the 2024 Carne Trust Chamber Competition, and was selected to perform as part of the Trinity Laban String Department’s day at Wigmore Hall.
One of the greatest challenges the ensemble has faced to date was selecting a name, warring between titles such as Trio Indecisive, Crystal and Company, and the Third Wheel Trio. Led by their gothic sensibilities, they eventually decided on Noctifer, meaning ‘Night Bringer’.
The group has received masterclasses with Matthew and Emma Denton of the Carducci Quartet, Konrad Elias-Trostmann of the Linos Trio, and was coached by Professor David Kenedy from 2023–2024.
